Traffic here routinely backs up several cycles of the traffic light, and people in the community complain about it. But on a bike... (I don't know why those last half dozen cars were in such a hurry to pass me ¯_(ツ)_/¯ )

It happens all the time. That and gunning it through a yellow or red light just to stop at the next light 500ft away. Makes no sense.

The "hurry up and wait" that US road design encourages is so frustrating.

30mph between lights, but average speed is like 10-12mph... Reminds me of the Strong Towns premise that if we just made the streets designed for 15mph we could get rid of many traffic lights, and everyone would get where they were going in the same amount of time (except a lot more comfortable for people on bikes).

Haha, this is amazing! I HATE this when I'm cycling with my toddler on the bike. All those cars passing you were putting you and themselves at increased risk for literally nothing. It looked like several of them didn't make it back into their own lane before another car coming in the other direction passed. So scary!
