<description>Biking to school can have many health, environmental, and social benefits, but few students in the United States bike to school. In a community-engaged research partnership between UW-Madison, the Wisconsin Bike Fed, and high school transportation ambassadors, we assess the bikeability of schools based on OpenStreetMap data and open source routing engines. Results can help prioritize improvements and guide planning. We will present results, challenges, as well as the tools used for the project.
