@heartlandurbanist Alleys definitely are nice to have. I am wondering though if these functions can be implemented with a different design without alleys and density or green space can be increased further.

@heartlandurbanist Yeah, at least in this direction there was a warning sign, so that the steel plate wasn't quite as surprising. Unfortunately the garbage cans are a constant, I think because they actually get picked up from the bike lane from the street (there's no ally behind these houses).
