Waving cyclists through is not the favor you think it is.

We were approaching an all way stop on our way home from school. The driver heading toward us was already at the stop sign, so we stopped to wait to make our left turn. But the driver just sat there. They might have been trying to wave us through, but there was a glare on their windshield, so we couldn't be sure. So we did what we always do - we waited our turn. Finally the driver went, and then we entered there intersection at the correct time. But the driver behind the first car was clearly annoyed at having to wait, and tried to sneak through despite us clearly having the right-of-way. It's incredibly dangerous when drivers try and wave cyclists through. We see hazards they've never dreamed of, and we know it's never worth the risk.
